Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 30, 2026
Last Updated: May 1, 2026
Thank you for choosing AMZ Listing Monitor ("the Extension"). Your privacy is our priority. This policy outlines our commitment to data security and explains how information is handled locally on your device.
Our "Local-First" Philosophy: We do not collect, transmit, distribute, or sell your personal information. AMZ Listing Monitor operates entirely locally within your Google Chrome browser.
1. Information Handling
To function properly, the Extension interacts only with the data presented on your active browser tabs.
- Local Browser Storage: The Extension uses the Google Chrome native storage API to save your preferences (settings and recently viewed variations). This is used solely to improve your user experience and is stored strictly on your device.
- Amazon Page Data: The Extension reads the Document Object Model (DOM) and scripts of Amazon Product Detail Pages (PDP) to extract ASINs, variation matrices, product metadata, and image URLs. This extraction happens entirely on your machine. We do not track or store the products you browse.
2. Permissions & Transparency
To provide core functionality, the Extension requests the following browser permissions:
- activeTab & scripting: Used to read the HTML of the specific Amazon page you are viewing to extract variation and listing data.
- clipboardWrite: Allows you to seamlessly copy extracted ASINs and Excel-formatted data to your computer's clipboard.
- storage: Used to save your extension settings locally on your computer.
- sidePanel: Used to display the user interface in Chrome's native side panel for a better workflow.
- downloads: Required to natively save high-resolution product images directly to your computer.
3. Third-Party Interaction
Because we do not collect personal data, we have no data to share or sell.
- No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use tools like Google Analytics or any tracking pixels inside the extension.
- Direct Image Fetching: When downloading images, the Extension fetches them directly from Amazon’s official servers (*.media-amazon.com). This is a standard interaction between your browser and Amazon.
4. Security
Since all processing is performed locally, your data security depends on your personal device and Chrome installation. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version for the best security profile.
